MIA CANCELS TOUR!!!

MIA cancelled her tour this morning and all upcoming dates for fear of losing her mind. She claims that being on tour takes a lot out of you and she has been working so hard that she doesn’t want to lose her sense of reality.

Now the average person who read this post probably said something to themselves like “aww suck it up man” but for a person who understands what musicians go through on the road (I mean I’ve never been on tour but I’ve seen like a zillion documentaries about it) then I have to  sympathize with MIA’s weired ass. She says that she makes club music so touring is like going to the club every night for six months. Now when you think about it that way…it all makes so much sense.

I feel sorry for the old boy bands and Rock hair bands that used to tour for like two years non-stop (no exaggeration). Some would tour every state in America, shoot out to Europe, then Asia, then back to America to do about ten more gigs. Sounds glamorous huh? Not when you’re on the road 40 weeks out of the year.

THA CARTER III MINI REVIEW!!!

Took a listen to some of Tha Carter III this morning and I have to say that the album is dope. I was reading the review from the NY Times and they claim that Lil Wayne is crossing over to pop without actually crossing over. I have to agree but only partially because Lil Wayne has always been sort of a pop artist (especially back when Cash Money ruled the world). The music on the CD is awesome and I have to give it to him on this quote.

That’s sick like salmonella nawmsayin. Anyway I encourage people to actually go out and purchase this one. It’s that good.

RALPH TRESVANT TO RELEASE NEW ALBUM!!!

(Billboard) New Edition member Ralph Tresvant is releasing a new album due out later this year. The as yet untitled project is gaining much publicity on the web with his new single “It Must Be You” which is on sale via iTunes and Amazon.com. The New Edition native claims this is something he’s wanted to do for a while and sings about social issues and love.

To be honest I’m not sure what to say about this one. Did anyone know that he put out a solo album back in 2006? Right! I guess there are two sides to look at here. The business side is saying NOOOOOOOO! Please wait until the movie comes out and then the album would do much better in the stores. The musician in me is saying hey if you want to put out some music then go ahead…that’s what music is about, expressing ourselves. To be honest I don’t think it will sell but I’m sure it won’t sound that bad. We will just have to wait and see.

Can’t wait for the movie though. But until then I’ll throw it black with his 1990 single Sensitivity.
